The Albertville Sweater by Dale of Norway Makes a Comeback

The Norwegian knitwear brand Dale of Norway is relaunching one of its most iconic pieces – the Albertville sweater.

As the official supplier to the Norwegian Olympic Team since 1956, Dale of Norway created the sweater for the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville, France, which became a piece of heritage knitwear. Instantly recognisable for its bold Nordic pattern and structured wool construction, it has become one of the brand’s most sought-after archival pieces.

Three decades later, the design is making a comeback. The reissue of the Albertville sweater reflects a continued interest in pieces that can be worn for more than a season and will live a long life.

The reintroduced Albertville stays true to the original design in every meaningful way. The chunky knit construction, classic crew neck, and bold Norwegian pattern remain unchanged, preserving the character that made the sweater iconic of Norwegian knitwear.

The sweater reflects a distinct Scandinavian understanding of luxury: fewer things, made better. The sweaters are knitted in Norway using 100% wool and are available in three different colour schemes and can be worn by both women and men.
