Aimé Leon Dore x The North Face: Between Mountain and Metropolis

Aimé Leon Dore x The North Face: Between Mountain and Metropolis

For Fall/Winter 2026, Aimé Leon Dore and The North Face return to familiar ground, only this time pushing further into the space between wilderness and the city. Their second collaboration is rooted in a shared appreciation for heritage, exploration and function, bringing together The North Face’s alpine vocabulary with Aimé Leon Dore’s distinctly New York perspective. Across 30 pieces, archival references are reworked through a considered, contemporary lens, balancing technical performance with the nostalgia of outdoor gear.

The collection’s most significant return is GORE TEX®, appearing in the partnership for the first time since 2019. The Mountain Jacket 2000 is constructed in seam sealed 3L GORE TEX, while the Pertex Nuptse takes on a hooded, reversible construction with Cloud Down insulation. Two familiar silhouettes are reimagined for movement between changing environments. Elsewhere, the collaboration introduces new forms. A Fleece Rugby brings a softer and more unexpected interpretation of outdoor layering, while the Ballistic Tech Vest draws from the utilitarian spirit of The North Face’s 1990s gear. Two footwear silhouettes, the Base Camp Mule and Verto Alpine GORE TEX Hiking Shoe, extend the collection into terrain that sits somewhere between the trail and the pavement. Accessories complete the offering, from the iconic Base Camp Duffel to caps, scarves and gloves, maintaining the collection’s emphasis on function without losing its sense of character. But perhaps the clearest expression of the collaboration comes through its campaign. The accompanying film moves between two radically different landscapes, travelling from the immense stillness of the Andes to the restless rhythm of New York City. Mountains give way to streets. Isolation gives way to density. Yet the impulse remains the same. Exploration. Featuring actor Keith W. Richards alongside legendary Chilean mountaineer Cristián García Huidobro, the film captures the meeting point at the heart of the collection, where The North Face’s history of exploration intersects with Aimé Leon Dore’s romantic vision of New York. It is a partnership built around contrast, but not contradiction. The mountain and the metropolis demand different things, yet both reward the same qualities: adaptability, curiosity and a willingness to keep moving. For FW26, Aimé Leon Dore and The North Face translate that idea into clothing designed not simply to withstand the elements, but to exist within them. From alpine terrain to city streets, the collection finds its place somewhere in between.
