A.P.C. Opens New Store in SOFO, Stockholm

A.P.C. Opens New Store in SOFO, Stockholm Parisian brand A.P.C. is opening its second Swedish store within a year of its first in the heart of Sofo, Stockholm’s trendy  southern district. Just like the first store, which opened this spring, A.P.C. plays on the similarities between the Parisian  brand’s creative universe and the characteristics of Scandinavian design.   Together with his wife Judith Touitou, Jean and A.P.C. have embodied the lack of extravagance and excess that has char acterised A.P.C. clothing since the company was founded in 1987. The chic, easy-to-wear clothes – in timeless styles and  made from high-quality materials – focus on the essentials for men and women. Laurent Deroo Architecte, who has been working with A.P.C. for more than 15 years and has designed more than  50 stores worldwide, has created a series of spaces for the new Sofo store, creating a dialogue between two display units  in a bright, high-ceilinged room. In the Nytorget store, solid Douglas pine and okoumé plywood furniture decorated with  coloured resin panels showcase men’s and women’s accessories, while a metal structure suspended from the ceiling with  honeycomb panels supports hanging pieces. A distinctive central stone table with contrasting veining and a warm niche like space with okoumé plywood panels for the lifestyle area and fitting room add to the store’s unique aesthetic. This spring, A.P.C. opened its first Swedish boutique on Jakobsbergsgatan in the heart of Stockholm, in a recently  renovated historic pink granite building. The high ceilings, reinforced by vertical steel columns, place the A.P.C. men’s  and women’s collections at the center of the project, designed by Laurent Deroo Architecte, thanks to a hanging device  reminiscent of the structure on which the spotlights hang at concerts. In the background, a low wooden unit for displaying  accessories provides a warm backdrop.  www.apcstore.com Nytorgsgatan 38,  116 40 StockholmJakobsbergsgatan 6,  111 44 Stockholm

Zalando Unveils Exclusive Styles from Marimekko’s Maridenim Collection

Zalando Unveils Exclusive Styles from Marimekko’s Maridenim Collection To celebrate Marimekko’s exciting expansion into denim, Zalando is launching four exclusive styles from the brand’s inaugural Maridenim collection. These limited-edition pieces include a shirt and three trousers, each featuring the Piirto Unikko—a modern, streamlined interpretation of Maija Isola’s iconic Unikko pattern, which marks its 60th anniversary this year. CHANEL MAJOR PATRON OF THE GRAND PALAIS

CHANEL MAJOR PATRON OF THE GRAND PALAIS As the exclusive patron of the Grand Palais since 2018, CHANEL is renewing its commitment to the Grand Palais Rmn for another five years, supporting its cultural and artistic program through the Grand Palais Rmn endowment fund. CHANEL now becomes the Major Patron of the Grand Palais. Since 2005, the Nave has hosted the House’s spectacular runway shows, becoming a creative playground for Karl Lagerfeld with iconic settings like a full-scale supermarket, a rocket and not to forget the beach setting. “The Grand Palais is an incredible machine that creates dreams. For us, it embodies the House of Chanel, just like Rue Cambon or Place Vendôme,” says Bruno Pavlovsky, President of CHANEL Fashion in a press release. “We’re proud to continue supporting this cultural landmark, which will enhance the influence of Paris and France, like the Eiffel Tower.” In 2018, CHANEL pledged to support the Grand Palais’ restoration. Now, with a new investment of 30 million euros, CHANEL will help fund its 2024-2028 artistic and cultural program. Didier Fusillier, President of the Grand Palais Rmn, highlights the restoration’s importance, noting that the Grand Palais will unveil its renewed splendor through an innovative cultural program. In April 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron inaugurated the entrance to the Nave, renamed “Gabrielle Chanel” in tribute to the House’s founder. CHANEL will return to the Grand Palais in October 2024 for its Spring-Summer 2025 Ready-to-Wear show, and the general public will be able to explore the new spaces in June 2025. A monumental curtain designed by Studio MTX will make the central space adaptable for various events, with workshops held at la Galerie du 19M for public participation. This project, alongside CHANEL’s commitment to other institutions like Palais Galliera and the Opéra national de Paris, reflects its dedication to preserving Paris’ cultural heritage. www.chanel.com
