Alexander McQueen Dante Mask

Alexander McQueen Dante Mask SOUNDBITES FROM SIMON COSTIN MAKER OF THE ORIGINAL DANTE MASK IN CONVERSATION WITH BYRONESQUE. My memories are mainly to do with setting up the front of house of the Dante show. I remember models were walking and going back to get changed and somebody else would put the same mask on and walk onto the runway. Several models wore the same mask. Because Lee was so enveloped in designing and developing the collections, I always thought, Oh, I know Lee would like this. So, it was a very holistic working process, we would all feed in stuff that may get thrown out or may get used. Along with some assistants back at the squat, we found a selection of crucifixes which were sourced from all over the place. And they were basically pulled off wooden crucifixes that we found. I remember we found some on Brick Lane in a junk shop. Bear in mind, eBay didn’t exist then, so we were sourcing things from car boot sales and junk shops. And because of this, each mask is in of itself one-of-a-kind. For instance, one didn’t get used in the show, because Jesus’ feet hung too low on the model’s face. So, we had to source figures which were the right size, and then work out a way of sticking them onto the masks. There would have been about a dozen masks made I think, but after the show, a couple of models left with some because they were going to a party, and I know one got dropped and smashed. Reading my early diaries from the time, you know that after that show we were the one’s clearing up, Katie was packing all the garments into boxes and Lee had to give me a hand to pack up. He’d say ‘great thanks’ Simona, as he used to call me. And then we went to the pub, and then his ex turned up, they had a row and he left. The person who buys this mask will be owning quite an important part of fashion history. Photo of Hannah Rose by Steven RAJ, Fecal Matter for Byronesque.

André Saraiva and 1664 Unveil New Collaboration in Denmark during Copenhagen Fashion Week, Initiating a World Tour The esteemed French beer brand 1664 has announced an exciting collaboration with globally renowned artist André Saraiva, also known as Mr. A. The collaboration will feature a “creative takeover” of 1664’s labels and packaging, showcasing André’s graffiti style as if spray-painted directly onto the existing 1664 bottles and merchandise. This initiative is envisioned as a global “world tour,” bringing André’s unique artistic flair to 1664’s international markets. Dubbed “André x 1664,” the partnership will celebrate creative industry and free spirits, starting on the vibrant streets of Copenhagen during Copenhagen Fashion Week. Known for its cheerful round face, wide smile, and winking eye, Mr. A has become an urban landscape staple worldwide. Saraiva’s “Love Graffiti” innovation further showcases his creativity by personalizing graffiti with individuals’ names in pop colors. His contributions have significantly impacted nightlife culture, making him synonymous with a free-spirited blend of art, fashion, street style, and fun. During Copenhagen Fashion Week in August, a local 1664 Kiosk will open, inspired by the small, charming kiosks integral to Copenhagen’s cityscape. Visitors can enjoy a blend of Danish hygge, curated kiosk staples, 1664 x André merchandise, and cold beers. Additionally, André has created a mural in Copenhagen next to the iconic bar, Det Elektriske Hjørne, showcasing the André x 1664 style. Charlotte Tilbury Beauty partners with Rotate Birger Christensen at Copenhagen Fashion Week

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty partners with Rotate Birger Christensen at Copenhagen Fashion Week Charlotte Tilbury is going Scandinavian, and we are here for it. The make up brand has collaborated with the Danish fashion house Rotate Birger Christensen for the Rotate Birger Christensen SS25 show. The signature beauty look for the Spring/Summer 2025 presentation was crafted in partnership with the British luxury makeup and skincare brand, led by Artistry Director & Brand Muse Sofia Tilbury and her team of international makeup artists.  Read Sofias thoughts and step by step guide below. “I am so excited that, for the first time ever, Charlotte Tilbury is partnering with ROTATE at Copenhagen Fashion Week, ahead of launching Charlotte Tilbury Beauty in Denmark. It is an absolute honour to be supporting the brand and their vision for their Spring/Summer 2025 collection. The collection evokes sensuality, sensitivity and the thrill of a summer romance. To complement the delicate fabrics, soft colour palette and blossoming floral motifs, we created a makeup look focused on fresh, dewy complexion, with a neutral, understated eye and soft pop of colour on the lips. To prep the skin, we applied Charlotte’s Magic Serum, followed by Magic Water Cream. To depuff and brighten underneath the eyes, we used Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum and hydrated the lips with Magic Lip Oil Crystal Elixir. To correct and conceal any imperfections, we applied Charlotte’s Magic Vanish followed by Beautiful Skin Concealer. We wanted to create some natural dimension and second-skin glow on the face, so we applied Charlotte’s new Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick on the high points, also using a slightly darker shade for warmth and definition. To refresh the skin and provide an additional layer of hydration and dewiness, we misted Charlotte’s Magic Hydrator Mist over the face. For a rosy, radiant yet natural pop of colour, we blended Charlotte’s new Beautiful Skin Island Glow Lip & Cheek in the shades Paradise Pink, Sun-blushed Glow and Pinched Cheek Glow onto the apples of the cheeks, depending on complexion. Using Charlotte’s Beauty Light Wand in Spotlight, we added a lit-from-within glow to the skin, applying it on the tops of the cheekbones and blending it out to the high points of the brows, as well as on the inner corner of the eyes to brighten. To de-shine and smooth the skin, we dusted a light layer of Airbrush Flawless Finish powder down the centre of the face. Keeping the brows soft, fluffy and natural, we gently swept them up using Charlotte’s Brow Fix and filled in any sparse areas with her Brow Cheat eyebrow pencil. For the eyes, we mixed the warm and cool lighter brown shades from Charlotte’s Super Nudes Easy Eye Palette, blending out across the eyelids to create a tawny wash of colour. On the lips, we pressed on the same Beautiful Skin Island Glow Lip & Cheek as we did on the models’ cheeks, focusing the colour intensity on the centre of the lips and blurring it outwards. Finally, to set our finished look and soften, smooth and hydrate, we misted Charlotte’s Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray all over the face.”

Loewe Paula’s Ibiza 2023

Loewe Paula’s Ibiza 2023 text Ulrika Lindqvist The liberated summer spirit that defines the Ibiza mindset finds in music and its culture a veritable epicenter. Ibiza is the island where music catalyses creative energies into an all-encompassing, laid-back lifestyle. The new LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza collection is an homage to this unique attribute, building on the fact that the original Paula’s Ibiza boutique, far from being a mere store, was in fact a meeting point for all the creatives and the musicians that, over the years, made the island their home and sent waves around the world. Island life: that’s what makes Ibiza, Ibiza. Hours spent on the beach, on a boat or by the pool, day and night, having fun in the glaring sun and in full contact with the elements. This ethos permeates the collection, which is meant to be enjoyed in an island scenario or to give an escapist vibration to summer in the city. There is an ease to the pieces that makes themversatile and, with a stress on weaving, braiding and texture, aligns with LOEWE’s sense of craft. Polo shirts, skirts, dresses are made in crochet, and some of them feature leaf patches. Real alocasia leaves are morphed into tops. Solid surfaces in organic tones are juxtaposed with vibrant prints. The LOEWE Anagram recurs as a motif, even on denim Satin lambskin is cut into slinky dresses. Jersey tops are immediate and easy. Fringes dance along hemlines. Denim is a must for polos, Bermuda shorts, and micro shorts that are an epitome of freedom and ease. Woven raffia and Iraca palm are the protagonists of the accessories, with the launch of the LOEWE Font Tote, available in three different sizes and featuring the logo spelled out loud, the Petal Basket with its wavy profile, and colourful new iterarations of the Anagram basket. The petite and practical Gardener Bucket is inspired by greenery. The capacious foldshopper for men is apt for different uses, from beach to town. For adding a personalised touch to bags, the collection also includes a wide selection of playful charms. Summer life cannot do without sunglasses, which this season are particularly bold and playful. The Wave Mask and Flame come in oversized shapes with padded contrast profiles. Shoes round the looks off with panache: vulcanized Terra slip ons, Bubble slides in Extralight® foam rubber with the logo popping on oversized tonal hardware. On the weaving and craft side, there are espadrilles in an array of styles. The accompanying visual portfolio, shot once again by Gray Sorrenti, is a celebration of island life with the creative community that gathers around LOEWE. The images, captured outdoors in Ibiza and Colombia, feature a cross section of international creatives and talents: Alewya, Bad Gyal, Mason Hyce Barnes, Guitarricadelafuente, Emily Ratajkowski, Devin Halbal and Karol G are portrayed in sun-drenched moments, simply having fun.
