Jaguar Reveals the Interior of the New Type 01

Stockholm, Sweden – 12 AUGUST 2026: Jaguar has unveiled the interior of its new four-door GT model, the Type 01. A full-length centre console divides the cabin into four distinct spaces, a feature from the concept car. The cabin envelops the driver, with a low-set seat that enhances security and confidence behind the wheel.

The Type 01 interior is crafted to engage the senses, drawing inspiration from the timeless appearance of travertine stone and the rich textures of handmade fabrics. A brass-like finish highlights the centre console and door tops, featuring Jaguar’s iconic Leaping Jaguar emblem. Thomas Holden, Chief Interior Designer at Jaguar, said: ‘Our holistic design philosophy translates the vehicle’s exterior expression into a distinctive interior architecture. In contrast to conventional horizontal interior design, we emphasise its dramatic longitudinal character through the central centre console – an architectural statement that creates four individual spaces. With authentic materials, integrated technology, and minimalist, flowing surfaces, the Type 01 conveys an unmistakable sense of drama and theatricality that will define the interiors of modern luxury cars in the future’.

Distinctive linear motifs on the dashboard and hood connect the interior and exterior, creating a unified design statement. The infotainment system features intuitive digital controls and is central to the interior. A digital ClearSight Rear View Display sits at the base of the windshield, aligned with the side mirrors, to help the driver maintain focus. Every detail, from subtle colour accents and hidden compartments to technology revealed only when needed, reflects Jaguar’s vibrant modernist creative philosophy.

With the Type 01, we wanted every journey to be an experience – from the driving dynamics to the appearance and the feeling the car evokes. With a confidence-inspiring GT driving position, pure and sophisticated technology, and a dramatic design, the Type 01 features an interior unlike any other’.

Jaguar Type 01 prototypes will make their North American debut during Monterey Car Week, featuring a distinctive new wrap, culminating in the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday, 16 August. The Jaguar Type 01 will be fully unveiled on 6 October 2026 in New York.

The Type 01 marks the beginning of a new era. ‘Type’ alludes to legendary predecessors; ‘0’ signifies zero exhaust emissions, and ‘1’ represents the first of a new generation. Designed, developed, and manufactured in Great Britain, the Type 01 is the first production Jaguar model based on the dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), created to deliver a unique driving experience. This luxurious four-door GT shows how bespoke Jaguar architecture enables a new approach to design, proportions, vehicle dynamics, and passenger experience. Unmistakable from every angle, it sets a new standard for modern refinement and craftsmanship.
