Two years after introducing its debut fragrance, Retrospect, MERIT returns with New Wave, a new L’Extrait de Parfum that marks a distinct evolution in the brand’s fragrance universe. Where Retrospect explored nostalgia and intimacy, New Wave looks forward, capturing the anticipation, confidence and quiet excitement of stepping into something new.
Created by master perfumer Dominique Ropion in collaboration with rising perfumer Meabh McCurtin, New Wave brings together two perspectives on contemporary perfumery. The result is a composition that moves between brightness and warmth, balancing expressive floral notes with a richly textured base.
New Wave opens with fresh, slightly spicy notes of pink pepper and angelica seed, followed by orange blossom, ylang-ylang and a touch of honey. As the fragrance develops, warmer notes of patchouli, cedarwood, vanilla and tonka bean come through, alongside benzoin and vetiver, giving it a soft, sensual finish that lingers on the skin.

What makes New Wave particularly intriguing is its almost mysterious quality. Enchanting and subtly seductive, it unfolds gradually, revealing new facets as it settles on the skin.
There is a beautiful tension between its luminous opening and darker, enveloping base, making it especially compelling during the colder months.
