String Furniture Presents Museum Candleholder in Red

String Furniture is adding a new colourway to its Museum series. The Museum Candleholder, designed by TAF Studio, will be released in a deep red Gloss 70 finish, available exclusively via the brand’s website from 1 November through December 2026.

The candleholder is the latest addition to a series that dates back to 2018, when String Furniture and TAF Studio collaborated on a specially designed console bracket for the reopening of Nationalmuseum in Stockholm. That initial project, built to support heavy busts from the museum’s collection, laid the groundwork for a broader partnership centred on function, materiality and an industrial design language.

The new red version marks a departure from the series’ typically muted palette. According to String Furniture, the glossy finish adds depth to the candleholder’s geometric form, giving it a stronger presence while leaving its underlying design language intact. The piece is positioned as both a functional object and a decorative one, equally suited to holding candles or standing on its own.

“We wanted to see what the colour does to the Museum candleholder,” said Bo Hellberg, CMO at String Furniture. “The red colour gives the candleholder a completely different presence. It feels good to introduce it just in time for Christmas.”

The Museum Candleholder in Red, Gloss 70, will be sold exclusively at stringfurniture.com/sv from 1 November until the end of December 2026.
