SVENSKT TENN AT 100: A NEW VOLUME CHRONICLES A CENTURY OF DESIGN ICONOGRAPHY

    Written by Ulrika Lindqvist

Phaidon has announced the June release of Svenskt Tenn, a comprehensive new monograph chronicling the legacy of the pioneering Swedish design company on the occasion of its 100-year anniversary. Edited by Nina Stritzler-Levine, with a foreword by CEO Maria Veerasamy, the volume offers a vivid portrait of Estrid Ericson’s vision—from modern pewter to lush Josef Frank textiles—and the brand’s ongoing influence on global interior design.

Founded in 1924 in Stockholm by Ericson, a former art teacher, Svenskt Tenn evolved from a modest storefront into a cultural institution known for its bold aesthetic language and enduring commitment to craftsmanship. The book features over 500 images—many previously unpublished—including technical drawings, wartime correspondence, and design collaborations that span the company’s storied history.

With contributions from voices across design, history, and ecology—including journalist Hedvig Hedqvist, author Ulrica Sievert, and sustainability expert Carl Folke—the volume also explores the company’s philanthropic model: all profits are directed to environmental and scientific research via the Kjell & Märta Beijer Foundation.

Designed by Irma Boom, Svenskt Tenn is not just a retrospective. It’s a design manifesto—rooted in legacy, attuned to the now.

    Available June 4, 2025.

Zalando Becomes Exclusive Retail Partner for Diane von Fürstenberg in Europe

Written by Jahwanna Berglund by Zohra Vanlerberghe

Zalando, Europe’s leading fashion and lifestyle destination, has officially become the exclusive retail partner for Diane von Fürstenberg (DVF) across Europe. The partnership marks a new chapter for the iconic American brand, enabling DVF to reach a new generation of designer customers through Zalando’s innovative digital platform.
To celebrate the launch, Zalando hosted an intimate press event in Berlin, welcoming media, creatives, and fashion insiders into a space inspired by Diane von Fürstenberg’s creative world. Held at the contemporary Reethaus venue, the event included a panel talk with Diane herself, Zalando’s VP of Designer Lena-Sophie Röper, and moderator Alexandra Bondi de Antoni. Together, they explored the legacy of DVF, the evolution of the brand, and its powerful message of empowering women through fashion.
The exclusive partnership means Zalando is now the only European retailer to offer DVF collections beyond the brand’s own channels (dvf.com and the DVF boutique in Brussels). The latest collection, including archival pieces and new season looks, is available now on Zalando in all 25 of its markets.
“For decades, I have designed to make women feel confident,” Diane von Fürstenberg shared. “Zalando shares that vision, making them an ideal partner for reaching a new generation of women.”
The campaign launch features Diane alongside top model Grace Elizabeth and other notable women, celebrating DVF’s enduring values of confidence, independence, and bold femininity. This long-term collaboration reinforces Zalando’s ambition to make premium and designer fashion more accessible through curated storytelling and elevated online experiences.
Zalando’s Lena-Sophie Röper added, “Diane von Fürstenberg is a true fashion icon. Together, we’re building a new platform for inspiration and style that speaks directly to today’s confident, independent woman.”

The DVF x Zalando collection is now live and available to shop at zalando.se.
