Grandma Hobbies Are Having a Moment

The Ukrainian brand of contemporary embroidered clothing, Etnodim, is introducing its first embroidery kits, inviting beginners and seasoned makers alike to rediscover the joy of creating by hand. Designed to become part of everyday rituals, family traditions, or thoughtful gifts, the collection celebrates centuries-old Ukrainian embroidery through a modern lens, embracing today’s renewed appreciation for slow, intentional creativity.

The launch includes two designs: Kvitneva, a round embroidered placemat with a floral motif, and Tsvit, a set of two square embroidered placemats. Expanding Etnodim’s mission beyond clothing, the kits offer a hands-on way to connect with Ukrainian embroidery traditions. Each kit includes fabric, embroidery threads, a needle, a stitching pattern, and step-by-step instructions, making it easy for anyone to pick up a new hobby.

For Etnodim, embroidery is about more than preserving craftsmanship—it’s about keeping a cultural tradition alive by inviting others to take part in it. As slow living, mindful making, and analog hobbies continue to resonate, the kits offer a chance to create with intention while building a personal connection to the heritage behind every stitch.

The embroidery kits will be available on etnodim.com later this week. We’d love to send one your way to try if it feels like a fit for your upcoming coverage. Let me know what questions you have, excited to hear your thoughts!
