Swedish craftsmanship meets British interior design in a collection of elegant suites and penthouses, where considered details and exceptional comfort shape the art of hospitality.

In the heart of London, overlooking Whitehall and within reach of the River Thames, Corinthia London brings together historic grandeur and contemporary sophistication. Now, in collaboration with Swedish bedmaker Hästens, the hotel places the art of sleep at the centre of the guest experience, creating a considered balance between craftsmanship, interiors and restorative comfort. Across 35 suites, including seven penthouses, handcrafted Hästens beds complement interiors defined by architectural detailing, generous windows and carefully selected materials. Soft upholstery, rich wood accents and tactile textiles lend warmth to the spaces, while classic proportions and individual design details give each suite its own character. Here, the bed is more than a place to rest. It forms an integral part of an interior conceived around comfort, tranquillity and understated luxury.

At the heart of the collaboration is the Hästens Maranga, distinguished by the brand’s iconic blue and white Blue Check pattern. Each bed is handcrafted in Köping, Sweden, using natural materials including cotton, linen, horsehair, pine and wool. Its 27 layers of materials are brought together through traditional side stitching, a meticulous process that reflects the same attention to detail within the bed as in its outward appearance. The craftsmanship continues a legacy dating back to 1852, when Hästens began its journey as a family business dedicated to the art of making beds. For Jan Ryde, fifth generation owner and CEO of Hästens, the partnership represents a shared commitment to exceptional hospitality and the transformative power of sleep.

“Having Corinthia London choose Hästens to offer its guests the ultimate sleep experience is a great honour and a source of immense joy. Our sole mission at Hästens is to make the world a more joyful, enriched and peaceful place. Guests at Corinthia London can now experience how sleeping in a Hästens bed can truly transform their quality of life.”

The philosophy extends beyond the bed itself. At Corinthia London, each suite and penthouse is conceived as a private sanctuary in the centre of the city, offering guests a place to retreat from London’s energy without sacrificing its pleasures. From the considered details of the interiors to the comfort of the bed, every element contributes to an atmosphere designed for deep rest and renewal.

“Our penthouses and suites are designed as private sanctuaries in the heart of London, and the quality of sleep is an integral part of that experience,” says Charlotte Weatherall, General Manager of Corinthia London. “From the thoughtful details in each suite to the comfort of a Hästens bed, every element is designed to help our guests truly unwind, rest deeply and wake refreshed and ready to enjoy everything London has to offer.”

The experience continues into the evening, when the hotel’s turndown service prepares each bed for the night. A lavender sachet, a Hästens sleep mask in the signature Blue Check pattern and advice for better sleep add a personal touch to the ritual, transforming a simple bedtime routine into a moment of quiet indulgence. Guests can also enjoy access to Biome by Corinthia London, the hotel’s spa, as well as round the clock in suite dining, allowing the experience to unfold entirely at their own pace.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Hästens, whose exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to the art of sleep naturally align with our own philosophy of thoughtful, personalised hospitality,” says Weatherall.

Together, Hästens and Corinthia London offer a vision of luxury that goes beyond aesthetics. It is found in the quality of natural materials, the patience of traditional craftsmanship and the small gestures that make a stay feel personal. In these London suites, the art of sleep becomes an essential part of the experience, inviting guests to slow down, reconnect with themselves and discover a quieter side of the city. The collaboration encompasses seven penthouses and 28 signature suites, each featuring the Hästens Maranga in either 180 by 200 centimetres or 200 by 200 centimetres. At Corinthia London, true luxury is not simply something to admire. It is something to experience, one restful night at a time.
