A Sanctuary for Shoe Lovers

With SALONE, sania d’mina opens the doors to a more personal kind of shoe shopping in Stockholm, bringing together considered interiors and a longstanding pursuit of comfort.
There is a particular kind of enthusiasm reserved for finding a beautiful shoe that you can actually spend an evening in. I have heard women speak about sania d’mina with precisely that enthusiasm: the elegance first catches their attention, but the comfort is what they keep talking about.
I am still saving up for my first pair. They are an investment, and I like the idea of choosing shoes I will reach for repeatedly, for dinners, long evenings and whatever happens between the two.
That search for a balance between style and comfort is where Sania Claus Demina’s story began. Long before she started designing, she was looking for shoes that could satisfy both. In 2018, she founded sania d’mina, building the Swedish label around craftsmanship, timeless design and the belief that an elegant shoe should also feel good to wear.
Now, that philosophy has a permanent home in SALONE, the brand’s new retail concept at Banérgatan 5 in Stockholm’s Östermalm district. Introducing regular opening hours from Wednesday to Saturday, the space gives visitors more opportunities to discover the collection, while retaining private appointments on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Developed through an ongoing collaboration between Claus Demina and interior designer and gallerist Fredrik Karlsson of Galerie North, SALONE brings their shared appreciation for enduring design and quality into the physical setting. The name feels fitting for a place built around personal encounters, where trying on a pair of shoes is part of a conversation.
“SALONE, I can’t think of a better way to describe our world,” says Claus Demina. “We are so looking forward to meeting even more women who can finally experience how shoes can actually feel.”
For those of us who have admired the shoes from a distance, there is now an open door on Banérgatan. And perhaps the first step towards finding a pair worth walking home in.
