A Christmas Travel Wish: Chase the Northern Lights

If there’s one gift that captures the magic of the season, it’s the chance to experience nature at its most breathtaking moments. 

This year, a journey into the North beyond the Arctic Circle, is on the wishlist. Where the Northern Lights brights up the night in shades of emerald, green, and violet – and where nature and Scandinavian calmness are in the center. 

For example taking the train to Abisko, Sweden, where the skies are famously clear and the Northern Lights paint sweeping arcs above frozen lakes. Or further west into Norway’s wild north, with its dramatic fjords, coastal mountains, and Arctic towns such as perhaps the town of Bodø and the inspiring Wood Hotel Bodø, that looks incredible on photos with its warm timber interior and expansive views of the nature. Walking around white landscapes, hearing only the crunch of snow beneath your boots.

Trips like these I can image aren’t just vacations; they’re acts of wellbeing. As someone who just turned 30, and wishes to be self aware and closer to nature. This Christmas, I wish for travels that includes experiences that stays with you long after you’ve returned home.
