Sublime Mimesis
Mourir Auprès de Toi (To Die by Your Side) by Spike Jonze
IN THE PARK
In the park today, taken by my model/photographer friend Anna. We like to take pictures in the park… Later on I’ll have to show you some polaroids she took of me last summer, also in a park of course :)
I’m wearing my Chinese vintage jacket and a white Acne sweater.
JUST ONE OF THOSE WEEKENDS
This weekend has been very celebrative. On Friday birthday girl Sanna invited her closest friends for dinner at deVille, I had Pimientos de padrón and beets of the season. We gave her the perfect birthday gift, a pair of off-white Alma boots from Acne! To be continued with drinks at Brillo as usual.
Today Anna and I took the metro to Enskede, we bought waffle supplies at the saddest grocery store ever (Kärrtorp) to have brunch with some of the best odalisques. The celebration was Meghans baby Frida that is joining us in the real world in about two weeks. After eating way to much sugar, Anna and I took a walk in Tanto.
When I came home it started raining small pieces of ice.
KIND OF PERFECT | ACNE ALMA PONY LEOPARD PRINT
Out in stores next week…
ACNE POP CLASSICS
My favorite jacket is a pop classics from Acne. I bought it abut three years ago but it’s still in good shape. Probably the most expensive garment I own.
Right after I bought it I remember feeling a bit regretful, I wasn’t sure if I liked it, maybe I should have bought something more safe… But now I love it.
WISH LIST | BAG TATE BY MINIMARKET
I had a similar bag in silver when I was about 9 or 10 years old. My friend gave it to me as a gift after a trip to NYC. I matched it well with my silver bomber jacket… :)

The rain is pouring down and yesterday the thunder arrived.
FEATURED AT REFINERY29 BY BEST AIMEE BLAUT
While I still had pink hair, Hornstull homie Aimee Blaut did a feature on me and my sis’ for Refinery29 :) The theme was 90’s beauty… as you can see. Go ahead and read the full interview at R29 or at The Formula Blog.
Who are your beauty influences?
M: “Claire Danes in Romeo and Juliet. I like the ’90s approach to style because it’s all ‘wrong’ but somehow still looks together. You’re really supposed to abandon all the rules and disregard what you know about coordinating outfits. Growing up, Sandra was my biggest role model — she used to wear her hair in small knots, like Björk and Gwen Stefani.
WISH LIST | RODEBJER NERA INSECT PRINT BIKINI/SWIMSUIT
I love this print. Bikini or swimsuit, it doesn’t matter.
FINAL RESULT | RAFAEL AND I FOR HELKVÄLL STHLM
BEHIND THE SCENES | HELKVÄLL STOCKHOLM
Woke up at 06.30 today and got myself ready for a mini shoot for Helkväll Stockholm at Story Hotel. Great morning with great people :) This Sunday turns out to be nothing but lazy… I will show you the result tomorrow. Now I’m off to work, again.
All photos are taken by Carolin Fleischer.
HELMUT NEWTON AT FOTOGRAFISKA
Yesterday I spent my evening browsing trough the new Helmut Newton exhibition. Fotografiska treated us with champagne, pink drinks and a tiny private tour.
I think Newton’s work is truly beautiful. The images are very attractive for the eye. And as you might now, I’m a sucker for black and whites. Although the pictures might not feel very provocative today, I’m sure they were 30 years ago. His work is, at least for me, very easy to like.
A happy surprise was that birthday girl Mimmi came by :)
ROYALLY DECADENT IN FAULT MAGAZINE
I did a shoot with young Angelina Bergenwall a couple of weeks ago. The result can be seen in FAULT Magazine. These are my favorite pics :)
UPCOMING | HELMNUT NEWTON AT FOTOGRAFISKA
On Thursday I’m going to the opening of the Helmut Newton exhibition at Fotografiska. The dress code is black and white and I’m thinking about getting a black lipstick for the occasion… Thursday is also my last day at the university for this semester.
KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU
To sum up my weekend, ABBA.
RIP IMAGE - TALA MADANI AT MODERNA MUSEET
Last night Marie and I went for the opening of Tala Madani’s exhibition called Rip Image. There we got a chance to hear her talk about the show together with the curators. You must go and see her work, I like, like, like it. It is sometimes a bit sadistic but also very humorous. Her painting technique is very childlike and she said something about the men in her images (there are only men and a few babies), something about men behaving like babies… It is a true achievement to be both serious and comic at the same time, which she manages.
Rip Image is the largest exhibition ever with Tala’s work which includes paintings, drawings and film. She explained her work as a parallel reality where she explores social acting and prejudices.
SHOOTING PRIMROSE
Photo of me shooting pretty Primrose.
Last night we celebrated the 1-year anniversary at Vassa Eggen here in Stockholm. I was kind of hyper the entire night, don’t know why I got nervous but I did. Anyway, the party was great :)
Wearing one of the giveaway gifts from Monki.
SELF PORTRAIT IN MY LIVING ROOM
My meeting today got cancelled so I therefore got some extra time on my hands. I found an old vintage dress in my closest and felt inspired by one of my friends Anna, she always takes such pretty self portraits wearing pretty dresses. I think the dress actually belongs to my sister, thanks for the loan S.
