Levi's® and McLaren Racing celebrate heritage and innovation with their first collaborative collection.
Since the launch of the groundbreaking 501® jeans, commonly known as the first pair of blue jeans, Levi's® has constantly found new ways to innovate its most beloved pieces, while staying true to its heritage. In the exciting world of racing, McLaren Racing has continuously innovated and improved its prized cars without compromising their undeniable elegance. Bringing the two iconic brands together for the first time, the Levi's® & McLaren Racing collection represents the best of heritage and innovation.
The Levi's® & McLaren Racing collection consists of a Racing Jacket, Racing Suit, Racing Gloves, Heritage Trucker, Heritage 501®, Constructors Tee and Racing Bandana. Inspired by McLaren Racing's vintage era, the cropped and boxy fit of the Racing Jacket features an embroidered chain stitch logo on the back and twill tape at the cuffs and hem. The jacket comes in a light wash, with a satin lining and a vegetable leather patch embossed with both brands.
The Racing Suit comes in the same light wash, has a slight drop in the crotch and a roomy fit with straight legs. The suit has vintage-inspired touches and a crackling print down the right leg, and the same patch, as well as a brown vegetable leather zip that pulls down the center front. Inspired by McLaren Racing's graphic vintage posters, the tri-colour Racing Gloves use colors from the classic McLaren color palette and feature perforation patterns for improved breathability. The gloves are crafted from Italian leather and feature a Levi's® shank for button closure, as well as an embroidered signature of McLaren Racing founder Bruce McLaren and an embossed McLaren logo.
Featuring vintage-inspired patches on the left and right chest, as well as a cropped boxy fit, the Heritage Trucker comes in a medium wash with pintucks at the elbows. The front zip is supported by red tape, while the back patch features McLaren's classic cars from the 80s. For the first time, the back left pocket is replaced by a shadow pocket with a crackling print, as well as a red tape pocket with a zipper at the top of the Heritage 501®.
Honoring the legacy of McLaren Racing, the jeans have vintage-inspired touches. The Constructor Tee features a front print of a McLaren Racing car from the 80s. And finally, the Racing Bandana, reinterprets classic Levi's® western motifs through a racing lens with McLaren graphics from the 80s.
Coinciding with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit, the collection will be launched worldwide on July 3 and will be available to buy on Levi.com, the Levi's® app and in selected Levi's® stores.
