• Art Stories Fall Show 2024: Story Relations Celebrates Emerging Talents

    Written by Natalia Muntean

At the beginning of October, Story Relations hosted the Art Stories Fall Show, the second installment of their event series dedicated to showcasing up-and-coming artists. Art Stories aims to provide an open platform for creativity, allowing diverse artistic perspectives to meet and inspire one another.

Building on the success of the inaugural show in June, this latest event brought together an exciting lineup of artists.
Gustav Winsth, known for his unique blend of traditional manufacturing techniques and bold design, presented works that balance functionality with expressive aesthetics.
Mwuana (Robin Nyström) displayed his textured oil paintings, where staged figures captured in photography are transformed into vivid artworks, merging reality and fantasy.
Saba Tadele Gebrewold showcased a multifaceted collection exploring spirituality, identity, and cultural heritage through various mediums, including painting, photography, digital collage, and installations.
Madelen Möllard filled the gallery with vibrant colours and large forms, drawing inspiration from Fauvism to create works that blend fantasy with personal memory.
Emma Stocklassa challenged conventional boundaries between design and art, producing pieces that enhance both aesthetics and functionality in private and public spaces.

Story Relations plans to continue hosting Art Stories to highlight emerging artists, provide a platform for their innovative work and celebrate artistic expression.

  • Ulrika Barr’s “Harena” Exhibition Opens at Galleri Glas

    Written by Natalia Muntean

Known for her innovative technique of combining blown glass with sand casting, Swedish artist Ulrika Barr creates organic, abstract forms that capture the essence of nature. Her works, often resembling stone or lava, are crafted with an intuitive, playful approach that reflects the eternal cycle of sand and glass.

Currently on display at Galleri Glas in Stockholm, Harena marks Barr’s first solo exhibition following her time with the Barr & Leven duo. Running from October 17 to November 14, the exhibition draws inspiration from artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe, offering a modern take on Jugendstil and Art Nouveau. Barr’s pieces emphasise the contrast between raw materials and refined form.

With international experience and a master’s degree from Konstfack, Barr’s artistry continues to evolve, blending traditional techniques with modern interpretations. Harena offers visitors a unique exploration of natural elements, from the depths of the sea to the earth’s core, through Barr’s distinctive glasswork.
