20 APRIL – 6 JUNI 2016
On April 20th the exhibition, Swedish Art: Now! opened at Sven-Harrys artmuseum in Stockholm. It is the most complete exhibition that aims to collect, present and lift a new generation of Swedish artists. From established artistst such as Klara Lidén, Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg to new names such as Anna Uddenberg, Emanuel Röhss and Dimen Abdulla.
The exhibition, which opened Stockholm Art Week 2016 and was inaugurated by the Minister of Culture Alice Bah Kuhnke, aims to present the most relevant artists established in the past five years. Several works have never been shown to the public before such as the recent works of Nathalie Djurberg and a site-specific painting by Emanuel Röhss. Others are especially created for Sven-Harrys, such as the installation of Nanna Nordstrom and an intervention of Cajsa von Zeipel in Sven-Harry “home” on the roof. In the media room, a generous line up of cutting edge video art is shown by Lina Selander and Meriç Algün Ringborg, amongst others.
Swedish Art: Now! is initiated by Michael Elmenbeck, founder of Bon Magazine and curated by Oscar Carlson, artistic director of the gallery Issue and one half of the artpod Danielsson & Carlson.
