RIP IMAGE - TALA MADANI AT MODERNA MUSEET

Last night Marie and I went for the opening of Tala Madani’s exhibition called Rip Image. There we got a change to hear her talk about the show together with the curators. You must go and see her work, I like, like, like it. It is sometimes a bit sadistic but also very humorous. Her painting technique is very childlike and she said something about the men in her images (there are only men and a few babies), something about men behaving like babies…
Rip Image is the largest exhibition ever with Tala’s work which includes paintings, drawings and film. She explained her work as a parallel reality where she explores social acting and prejudices.

Self Portrait

My body is a vile; my soul is the ether.

I am contained but never stuck.

We must remember this elixir that we hold inside of us.

Have you seen the works of Aris Moore?
I could have posted fifty of her works instead of only five since they’re all so amazing.

Aris Moore has the guts to trust her own feeling. Not looking for perfection in the portraits but the perfection in the expression of the people portrayed.
I have stumbled upon many of her portraits on blogs and Pinterest, not even realizing that all of those portraits I love so much comes from the same artist.
I think I’ll save up some money to one day be able to buy one of Aris Moore’s works

You can find all of her works on her blog (which I really recommend a visit.)

Inspiring iconic makeup!

Red and Green play.

I love this makeup done on Kim Novak in Hitchcock’s ‘Vertigo’ The BROWS!
You who have not seen this film should definitely see it, love the way Hitckcock always played with the colors red and green. Perfect compliments!
